Natural beef is defined by the USDA as minimally processed, with no artificial ingredients or added colors.
Cedar River Farms cattle are fed a 100% vegetarian diet of grain and forage. Our cattle are finished on a high-energy, formulated grain diet for a minimum of 300 days. (Conventional cattle are fed for 90 to 120 days.)
A 100% vegetarian fed diet requires the cattle to never receive any animal by-products in their diet.
Our cattle are born and raised in the Southwestern United States.
Cedar River Farms cattle never receive added hormones during their life.
Cedar River Farms is currently offered in retail stores and is available for foodservice. Currently, we are not able to deliver or directly to consumers at this time.
Cedar River Farms cattle consume forage in their life but are grain finished. Therefore, we do not make a grass fed or finished claim. If you are interested in 100% grass fed beef, we recommend Grass Run Farms.
Our program protocol does not require that our producers include organic grass and forage sources in the feeding regimen. Therefore, we do not make that claim and are not USDA Certified Organic.
Our program protocol does not require that our producers include GMO-free grass in the feeding regimen. Therefore, we do not make that claim.
Our program does not require cattle to receive non-GMO feeds, such as corn and soy. Therefore, we do not make that claim.
